Nieves Hidalgo's novels are intriguing because they do not know how new topic will dare each time you publish one of them. It can mess with Saxons and Normans, to go to the American Civil War, being involved in the revolution of the villagers or to make a ghost come to life and fall in love, and all without ever losing credibility that has earned to blow every word written, every sentence that comes out of his active imagination and each of its novels, both published and which are not (they are few, attest). In
East Luna, Nieves us into that magical world that is East, the spices, of harems full of beautiful women who dance to the beat of exotic music, lavish gardens, desert and desolate nights moons warm impossible. With Nights of Karnak has gone even further, adding to the dreamlike atmosphere of the mystery of ancient Egypt, the rise of a warrior of the past and the possibility of time travel. I think you can not ask for more, and I always wonder where the hell this woman will bring many ideas or take know that a vitamin that gives it vitality that release their stories.
As always, the characters are completely impossible to forget, as I said once you get caught with his character, his touch of humor, feeling much they are not real, especially Karemheb, that man that all women have ever dreamed, and Esther is a woman like the one we want to be: brave, strong, determined and independent. And I would emphasize the counterpoint provided by secondary characters: Professor Connor and Robbie (who is always involved by telephone, curious), and especially the evil Senephta.
What I have had and I have very clear is that novels always Hidalgo learn something. They are not strictly romantic novels but they are framed in this genre. They are, but I qualify as the romantic-historical novels, or even añadendo sometimes the term "paranormal" as in this case, as we saw in his first novel, What Eternity lasts. There is always a basis of material after each of them about historical events and atmosphere surrounding the story, in "Nights ... there are many more elements including historical romance, perhaps someone can take on missing the second, but I do not, and more over if I intend to "be" archaeologist or time travel, I do not need anything else. So, in short, no I can think of more than qualify as "romantic fiction-historical-paranormal-adventure, a genre that would absorb a good number of readers and that would tremendously satisfied.

Nights is a romantic novel about a love can break the barriers of time and history. It only takes desire to go into the quest to live this love in Egypt fascinating of the great pharaohs.
